ALL AUDITIONERS
For the Summer Mainstage production of Mamma Mia, we are using an online service called Cast98. Cast98 enables us to handle auditions online (no more paper forms to fill out!) and makes scheduling rehearsals a lot easier on our directors and producers.
What this means for you: If you wish to audition or work as a crew member on Mamma Mia, you will need to create a profile on Cast98. Fill out your contact info, past show experience, and conflict calendar and then you'll be ready to sign up for an audition time. Make sure you remember to update all of your info before signing up for an audition. Note to parents: If you are registering more than one child, you will need to create a separate profile for each child.
We think you're going to really enjoy using Cast98, and you'll see why after we cast our next show (spoiler: you'll get a personalized rehearsal schedule!). You can also save your cast bio on Cast98 so that you don't have to write it from scratch every show.
Need help getting started? If you have any trouble using Cast98, please don't ask us! We will not know the answer! For tech support or questions about Cast98, use their Help features.

Health Guidelines
The VMT Staff and production crew will do our best to minimize covid exposure risks. We adapt to changing guidelines and follow state requirements established for the performing arts sector. You can view more information for this production in our cast/crew agreement document. We will have health screening questions at the beginning of rehearsals. At this time masks during rehearsals are optional. Stay home if you feel sick!
You may not be aware, but we have already had to reschedule the Mamma Mia production twice due to COVID. Due in large part to the size of the cast and crew required to perform Mamma Mia (50+ people), and that VMT does not have any fiscal leeway to reschedule or cancel a single performance due to a COVID outbreak, the Production team and VMT Board of Directors must be diligent to minimize our risk of any outbreaks that would disrupt rehearsals and/or performances. For additional background on this topic please visit our COVID Health & Safety Plans page. We have implemented a vaccination policy for this production as follows:
To audition for Mamma Mia, interested cast and crew must provide ONE of the following at audition check-in:
-
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination (including booster shot as needed). This can be shown in the form of signed vaccination card or electronic record. VMT staff will verify and check it off as you sign in – we will not need to keep a copy of your personal health records.
-
A completed medical or religious exemption application form. Exemption requests will be reviewed by the show Producer, Director, and the VMT Executive Committee. Forms available here:
Medical Exemption Form
Religious Exemption Form
Unvaccinated cast/crew members with approved exemptions will be required to test at least once a week throughout the rehearsals and performances. Vaccinated cast/crew must remain up-to-date on vaccinations throughout the run of the show.
Should someone in cast/crew test positive for COVID-19, we reserve the right to test all cast/crew members. (VMT is working on securing rapid antigen tests that we can provide free of charge, but we reserve the right to charge participation tuition to help cover costs if needed).
We reserve the right to double-cast any role, and by accepting a role you are agreeing to that.
In addition to describing measures that VMT has implemented in accordance with public health guidelines, it is also critical to convey that VMT simply cannot guarantee that all exposure to the virus will be eliminated. By participating in this production, you are acknowledging and accepting that risk.
