Audition Info

Roles for 12-20 youth. Open to 6th - 8th grade students (High School students are welcome for backstage crew roles).

Synopsis: The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award-winner, Stephen Schwartz, and it took the world by storm.  Boasting a score with chart topping songs, Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.

A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

**IF YOU HAVE A CONFLICT ON MARCH 13TH: ** We are aware of a middle-school choir concert on March 13th.  If you are still interested in participating, please fill out the form below and indicate that you have a conflict on March 13.  Please instead plan to show up on March 14th at 5:00 PM.  We will do a second informational meeting prior to the rehearsal.

Audition Preparation:

This program is first and foremost an educational experience; performers of all levels are encouraged to sign up and participate. That is to say that traditional auditions will not be held for this show - all who sign up are guaranteed a spot in the cast! We will be learning, as a group, how to audition and then putting our skills to the test during rehearsal to distribute individual parts. Any questions about this process or its methods are welcome to contact Alexandra Roth, Director.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Complete the Participant Form at the bottom of this page (or on Airtable here).

    • Download the CONFLICT CALENDAR. Review the dates and note ANY and ALL dates/times you have conflicts on your online audition form below, or bring to your audition.
